However, there is limited understanding of how to capture and measure social outcomes effectively. This report explores how Social Return on Investment (SROI) can be applied to assess the social benefits of volunteering in marine restoration, using the Wilder Humber project as a case study. Challenges of applying this method are discussed and recommendations are made to ensure the reliability of future application. Data quality was ensured by co-developing the survey with subject matter experts, and using reliable, validated sources.
