To inform the EIA and as part of the required offshore cable corridor development and risk assessment, detailing on the potential suitable cable areas, offshore cable layout and installation methods are required. In order to fulfil these objectives and provide recommendations to NaREC, CA have undertaken a detailed cable route optioning exercise. In addition, in order to complete this exercise a comparison of sediment thickness was required between the 2010 and 2011 geophysical data. This was to allow an assessment of sedimentmobility across the site to support cable routing. The exercise has been undertaken by EGSi (geophysical survey contractor).
