The aim of the work was to provide and interpret data from vessel mounted surveys measuring current profiles and seabed video footage. A 300 kHz T-RDI vessel mounted Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (VMADCP) and an Aquavision Surveyor 100 HD video camera were used at several sites over the period 10th July 2011 to 13th July 2011 to collect high quality data. This report provides a summary of the equipment used during the survey, QA-QC protocols for the ADCP data and seabed boundary changes identified by the camera. On occasion, the ADCP will not record a data ensemble when measurements fail to meet accuracy standards. The QA algorithm examines all the records to see if any ensembles are missing. If all ensembles are present, the function stops. Otherwise, the function will determine how many ensembles are missing, the specific ensemble numbers that are missing and the times of the missing ensembles. The function creates an array of fill values for each variable in the dataset, and inserts new ensemble records constructed of these arrays, the ensemble numbers, and correct times. If missing ensemble numbers are detected, the algorithm inserts the appropriate ensemble numbers, along with their times and fill values as place holders for the missing data. The interpolation of missing data is done using cubic spline polynomial. The algorithm also accounts for any severely tilted ADCPs and although it may take a long time to run, it may salvage a few bins worth of data that would otherwise be discarded.
