The scope of work included 48 alternating downhole sampling / Seismic Cone Penetration Tests (SCPTU) and 52 continuous seabed SPCTU to a target depth of 25m to identify in situ soil conditions. The downhole drilling began on the 29 May 2019 and ended on 18 September 2019. The seabed (S)CPTU began on the 14 December 2019 and ended on 19 January 2020. Operations were conducted using the GMR600 drilling rig and GMCPT201 seabed CPTU system, conducted by MV Geoquip Saentis. In some instances, this compliance will not be feasible. True series The scope of work nominally included 38 alternating downhole sampling / Seismic Cone Penetration Tests (SCPTU) boreholes (to the depth of 40 and 60m), and 62 continuous seabed SPCTU to a target depth of 25m to identify in situ soil conditions. During the fieldworks the alternating boreholes were increased to 48 and the seabed (S)CPTU decreased to 52.Downhole drilling operations commenced on 29 May 2019 and was completed on 18 September 2019. The site investigation was completed utilising the Geoquip Marine owned GMR600 drilling rig installed on the DP2 vessel MV Geoquip Saentis. The seabed (S)CPTU operations were completed between 14 December 2019 and 19 January 2020, using the Geoquip owned GMCPT201 seabed CPTU system also from the MV Saentis. The soil descriptions presented on the borehole logs are based on the field descriptions of recovered samples and interpretations of the CPTU data updated with results from the onshore laboratory testing. Descriptions are based on the recommendations in BS5930:2015, BS EN ISO 14688-1:2018 and the guidelines presented in Appendix C of the Volume II Report. All CPTU cones were calibrated prior to the project. Calibration certificates and verification data for CPTU cones are presented in Volume I Report (Geoquip 2019).
