The principal datasets used to inform the salmon and sea trout fisheries baseline were: • MSS Salmon and Sea Trout Catch Data by Fishery Region (1952-2009); • MSS Salmon and Sea Trout Catch Data by Salmon Fishery District (2000-2009); and • MSS Salmon and Sea Trout Netting Effort Data (2001-2010). Each fishery in Scotland is required to provide the number and total weight of salmon, grilse and sea trout caught and retained during each month of the fishing season.
