The Inner Sound is located off the northern coast of Scotland, between Caithness on the Scottish mainland and the island of Stroma. The main data sources used in the study are as follows: • AIS Shipping Data; • Radar Count Data; • Vessel Logs from environmental survey work; • Government Fishing Surveillance Data; • RYA UK Coastal Atlas Data; and, • Sailing Directions. Longer term, it is planned to install up to 400 MW of tidal energy generators in the Inner Sound. This expansion will be subject to a separate NRA but is considered as a potential cumulative impact within this study. It is noted there are no plans for exclusion zones during normal operations. Temporary safety zones are being considered during work activities on the site.
