As part of the Navigational Risk Assessments (NRA) of the proposed Fair Head Tidal Energy Project and the Torr Head Tidal Energy Project, 28 days of shipping data surrounding the Agreement for Lease (AfL) areas for both projects has been gathered. The data was collected over 2 x 14 day periods to give account to seasonal and tidal variations. This series contains reports for the Summer and Winter 2014 traffic surveys as well as the Navigational Risk Assessment (NRA) and Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) Technical Reports. The radar was mounted on scaffolding to give a more elevated view. The survey location relative to the Fair Head and Torr Head AfL areas is shown in Figure 2.1. The survey location is approximately 1.2nm from the closest part of the Fair Head AfL area and 2.7nm from the furthest point. The closest and further distances from the Torr Head AfL area were 0.5nm and 2.2nm.
