NRL have identified a potential development area for an Offshore Wind Farm (OWF) within the BCZ, known as Atlantic Array. As part of the initial assessment of the development area, it is proposed that a meteorological mast (met mast) will be constructed at the site. This series contains various reports associated with the proposed Met Mast, including the Food and Environment Protection Act (FEPA) licence. However other issues, such as potential collision with a turbine location and the preference of maintaining a consistent measurement location throughout the development, have lead to the restriction of locations to the perimeter of the site. There still remains significant uncertainty about the level of variation that is present across the site and the level to which it is possible to mitigate against this through appropriate modelling.
