For the purposes of statistical analysis, colonial species recorded as present were assigned an abundance value of one. In order to make comparisons with data from previous surveys species names were checked for any taxonomical changes on the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS) website and amended. Catch data was standardised using a standardisation factor for all survey types to account for differences in sampling effort (this was to 30 minutes for trawls and 24 hours soak time for pots). Fish and invertebrate data for each survey type were analysed separately (Appendix B). The total number of each species (standardised abundance) and species number at each station was collated for presentation within the report. Size frequency was also compared graphically for the most abundant fish of commercial importance for each survey type.
