The specifications of the vessel are given below in Table 4.1. The position of the vessel was tracked at all times using a Garmin GPSMap 620 with an EGNOS differential connected to an external Garmin GA30 antenna. Trawl start times and positions were taken when the winch stopped paying out the gear. Similarly, trawl end times and positions were taken when hauling of the gear commenced.
