Whilst survey operations were underway, the contract was extended to cover a hydrographic survey to assess seabed scour around 4 wind farm turbine bases and any cable exposure along the collector and inter-array cables, as well as a sub-bottom survey around the Westmark Knock Navigation Buoy in the Wisbech Channel. The survey aims were as follows: a) Conduct a survey of the export cable routes to identify any exposure of the cable or change in seabed morphology. b) Survey (using SSS) around three faces of the Offshore Platform (OSP) to check the cables exiting the J-Tubes to their touchdown point on the seabed. c) Obtain Sub-bottom data around the Westmark Knock Navigation Buoy in the Wisbech Channel. d) Conduct a scour survey of the seabed at the base of 4 turbines within the LINCS Offshore Wind Farm. These 4 turbines were LS61, LS62, LS63 and LS64. e) Survey (using SSS) the inter array cables to identify any cable exposure. The Leica 1200 GPS system, set to log raw observations at 1-second intervals, was used for the vertical control throughout survey operations. The raw GPS observations were then postprocessed with Ordnance Survey Active station data using Leica Geo Office 7.01. Horizontal positions are presented as Eastings and Nothings relative to WGS84 UTM Zone 31 North. Vertical positions are presented relative to CD (Skegness). The offsets between the MBES transducers, the MRU, the DGPS antennas, equipment tow points and the CRP, where the Wessex Explorer datum has been established, were accurately measured (± 0.001metre) during a dimensional survey conducted in June 2012. All offsets were input to the Seapath 330+ system which calculates the actual position for each instrument. All position measurements were acquired relative to the WGS84 Ellipsoid (latitude and longitudes) and then converted to Eastings and Nothings relative to WGS84 UTM Zone 31 North.
