The surveys were carried out between 8th and 22nd September 2015. In addition, a further 4 lines were run per turbine (108 lines) in order to collect high resolution data. Data acquisition was undertaken from Bibby HydroMap’s own dedicated shallow draft vessel MV Lia, equipped with RESON 7125 multibeam echo sounder and Klein 3000 side scan sonar systems. Works were carried out in conjunction with other activities on the windfarm. These were primarily maintenance tasks carried out by several support vessels that were contracted to the site. Fishing vessels were also present, deploying nets at various locations within and surrounding the site. Along with traffic associated with the Tees approach channel, these represented the main navigational and operational hazards for the duration of the survey. Weather conditions were changeable during the survey period, with a north-easterly swell present within the windfarm on most survey days.
