EGS (International) Ltd was contracted by Centrica in 2011 to undertake a geophysical survey of the Lynn & Inner Dowsing (L&ID) Offshore Wind Farms and export cable route corridors (Figure 1) in order to determine the nature and distribution of broad scale sediment types and identify seabed features. This survey is the phase 1 of the third post-construction geophysical survey of the L&ID wind farms and was carried out in order to fulfil the FEPA licence requirements.

This survey comprised of a comparison between the 2011 survey and the previous EGS 2010, EMU 2009 and EMU 2002 surveys which identified sediment distribution between the surveys to be generally similar with a general featureless classification of gravelly SAND to sandy GRAVEL
The survey is split into the following categories:
Phase 1 (Geophysical)
A Multibeam echo sounder and side-scan sonar survey required to determine the nature and distribution of broad scale sediment types and identify seabed features across the wind farm sites and export cable corridors. (which is this report)
And Phase 2 (Benthic) (which will be recorded as a different series)
Benthic ecological sampling required to provide information on the post-construction benthic environment of the Lynn and Inner Dowsing Wind Farm sites.
