The Stage 1 geoarchaeological review (WA 2016), identified sequences of bedded, laminated, fine-grained and organic sediments of possible Holocene (or earlier) origin which have potential for understanding the timing and influence of marine transgression and determining the development of coastal geomorphology since the last glacial. The report in this series displays the geoarchaeological assessment results for the samples of interest; the locations of which are shown on Figure 1 of the report. The samples were opened in the laboratory at the Salisbury office and described by a suitably experienced geoarchaeologist following Hodgson (1997), to include information such as: Depth; Texture; Composition; Colour; Inclusions; Structure (bedding, ped characteristics etc); and Contacts between deposits. Interpretations were made regarding the probable depositional environments and formation processes of the sampled deposits.
