The guidance was developed using a combination of literature reviews, expert workshops, multi-stakeholder consultations, and case studies, with input from statutory nature conservation agencies, scientists, and the consultancy sector. Key conclusions emphasize the need for harmonized data collection, clear reporting, use of quantitative and standardized analytical tools (such as collision risk modeling), early and transparent stakeholder engagement, and ongoing iterative improvement informed by monitoring.
