An excel document contains the coordinates and details of the survey effort (sheet 1) and details of sightings (sheet 2). The related shapefile contains the location of the sightings and are rated as either 'Possible', 'Probable', or 'Definite'. Sightings were recorded of Common Dolphin and Harbour Porpoise. The data was processed to identify 'Possible, 'Probable' and 'Definite' sightings of dolphin and porpoise. Raw video was held by HiDef and shared with JNCC. Shapefiles were produced inhouse by EDP Renewables using coordinates supplied by University of Aberdeen. Characterisation and seasonal patterns of porpoises and dolphins formed was a key objective of marine mammal data gathering at the MORL and BOWL sites. The work programme was developed in discussion with the developers and regulatory bodies, and has been conducted by the University of Aberdeen and SMRU Ltd at the University of St Andrews. Information from the study was passed on to Natural Power for modelled assessments of dolphin and porpoise abundance within the Moray Firth.
