The assessment was carried out using BVGs Guide to an offshore wind farm, which considers a surveys spatial extent, distance offshore and water depth. Using the capacity of an offshore project as an approximation of size, ABPmer were able to detail the survey methodologies and their associated costs. The quantitative assessment places a value of £1,542,228,523 on the MDEs primary survey data. This assessment was only able to quantitatively value 55% of total data, research and evidence holding on the site at the time of this study and so the total cost and thereby value can be expected to be greater.
