The survey was to detail information on bathymetry, shallow geology, seabed features and magnetic anomalies for the construction of a potential tidal stream energy generation system at the site. The purpose of the survey was to provide detailed hydrographic and geophysical information within the area to identify areas of exposed bedrock and to characterise the seabed in terms of sediment, rock type, benthic and epifaunal habitats. Geophysical data was collected using swath bathymetry, sidescan sonar, surface tow boomer and magnetometer. Survey operations were carried out aboard the Titan Survey’s vessel Titan Explorer between January and February 2010.
