The project proposes that the cable will come ashore at the south end of Holland Haven (approximately TM 215168) and make its way to the electricity sub-station at Cook’s Green (TM 192189). Due to the presence of a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) along Holland Brook and part of Picker’s Ditch, three alternative routes were surveyed. Every effort has been taken to provide an accurate assessment of the situation pertaining to this site and subject at the time of the study, but no liability can be assumed for omissions, or changes after the survey has taken place. The routes were surveyed on 28th May, 5th and 6th June 2002. Where possible, common names have been used in the main text; their scientific names, however, have been included in the species lists. For vascular plants the nomenclature follows that of Clive Stace, The New Flora of the British Isles, 2nd edition, 1997, Cambridge University Press.
