The family of radar of which the UK TPS-77 is a member, has an inherent resilience to wind farm clutter through its incorporation of a multi-beam design and utilisation of pulse doppler processing, however where the inherent radar performance is not considered to be satisfactory in itself for AD purposes, the use of NAIZ that apply additional target, track and background processing to a specific volume will have the effect of ensuring that display remains un-congested. There is however a finite quantity of NAIZ areas that can be enabled without the need for a re-examine the baseline processing power and capacity of the radar. This report provides information to the Developer regarding the quantity of NAIZ required to mitigate Blyth Offshore Demonstrator and the associated impact to the radar baseline performance, allowing the Ministry of Defence to decide if the proposed mitigation is acceptable, or if further analysis and tasking is required in order to make a decision.
