The site is situated to the east of the existing Lynn and Inner Dowsing wind farms. The survey was completed under Osiris Projects Terms and Conditions and was carried out between 25th January 2011 and 12th February 2011. The main objective was to undertake a complete sonar seabed survey (multibeam echo sounder & high frequency side scan sonar) of the entire wind farm site, which included a 250m ‘buffer’ around the designated boundary of the wind farm. The total number of linear kilometres of survey data was estimated at 780km, consisting of 67 main survey lines, running N-S up to a maximum length of 13.7km and spaced at 60m intervals, together with 14 cross lines, running E-W up to a maximum length of 4.3km and spaced at 1km intervals. Water depths on site are in the approximate range 7-20m below Chart Datum (CD). Data acquisition was undertaken from Osiris Projects’ own dedicated shallow draft vessel SV Chartwell, equipped with a Reson 7101 multibeam echo sounder and a Klein 3000 side scan sonar system. Both sensors were run simultaneously on each line. Primary vessel positioning was provided by an Applanix POS MV 320 Inertial Navigation System (INS), with secondary positioning provided by an C-NAV 2050M dGPS system.
