This remote sensing ornithological monitoring identified significant numbers of pink-footed geese skeins on migration offshore to a distance of 10km. As a result of these data, through the provision of FEPA licenses, Natural England and MFA requested that Centrica Renewable Energy Ltd undertake a new ornithological monitoring exercise during the construction phase for the consented offshore wind farm specifically focusing on pink-footed geese migration behaviour. RPS was commissioned to co-ordinate remote sensing (using Bird Detection Radar) ornithological studies for the Lynn and Inner Dowsing Offshore Wind Farms.
