The aim of the survey was to identify changes to seabed morphology within the wind farm and along the export cable routes. To meet the requirements of the survey EGS operated a Kongsberg EM3002D high frequency multibeam system and a Klein 3000 dual frequency side-scan sonar (SSS) in conjunction with a USBL system, across each of the proposed WTG’s, substation locations and export cable routes. C&C Technologies C-Nav DGPSs were used for horizontal positioning and were interfaced into QPS QINSy. The C-Nav 2050 was used as the primary positioning system which was receiving RTK corrections from the base station at the onshore DONG marine-communication tower. The corrections were transmitted via a telemetry link at a frequency of 458.65 MHz. The C-Nav 2000 system was receiving real-time C1 corrections and was used by QINSy for positioning when the CNav 2050 could not receive RTK corrections, mainly to the west of the survey area.
