The survey was undertaken between the 27th September and the 29th September 2011 onboard Nab Cat II, an 11 m survey vessel operating out of St Ives. The purpose of the survey was to provide a baseline for future post‐construction monitoring surveys covering the Wave Hub site, the sub‐sea power cable (SPC) route and an area covering the wreck “Helene”. The bathymetric survey accurately charted depths within the three survey areas. In addition, Navigation checks were carried out at a known location at the start of the field work to ensure good positional accuracy. These co‐ordinates were noted in the navigation check logs. In all cases, good and consistent GPS data were obtained. The bathymetry data collected were of good quality. Any obvious noise present in the data was removed and the remaining data were corrected for variations in tidal height. A height difference comparison was performed between the final 2011 bathymetric data and the 2008 bathymetric data (EMU ref: 08/J/1/02/1329/0829) to confirm the accuracy of the 2011 bathymetry data.
