Those that are too large to download can be ordered via the website for postal delivery from BGS. download dataset Samples were collected (using Day grab, megacorer and gravity corer) during 24 July to 22 August 2002 from MV Kommandor Jack as part of the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change's Offshore Energy Strategic Environmental Assessment programme. ERT (Scotland) Ltd were contracted by DTI via Geotek Ltd to assist in the retrieval and processing of physical/chemical seabed samples. Samples were analyses for total hydrocarbon and total n-alkane content using gas chromatography. The concentrations of n-alkanes present was determined by measuring the response of each component by GC using a flame ionisation detector.
