Metadata: 2024 Fisheries Industry Science Partnership (FISP) North Eastern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (NEIFCA) North East Inshore Habitat and Species Abundance Video Tow
Abstract:
The principal objective of the survey was to obtain video recordings of the seabed that would help observe sediment types as well as the diversity of epifaunal communities associated with them. Fifteen sites were selected at random between Whitby and the Humber Estuary. A camera was deployed and towed for between 6 and 30 minutes at each site. The video footage was saved and analysed.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 11565 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2024 Fisheries Industry Science Partnership (FISP) North Eastern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (NEIFCA) North East Inshore Habitat and Species Abundance Video Tow |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | 2024 North Eastern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (NEIFCA) North East Inshore Habitat and Species Abundance Video Tow |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | ca8a0ccf-1120-42b6-a528-9106bcfc6b73 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | DASSHDT00000543 |

| Abstract | The abstract provides a clear and brief statement of the content of the resource. |
| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Video was recorded simultaneously to a Bowtech RCD unit recorder and a computer hard drive. Camera tows lasted 10 minutes per tow, with the sledge being towed at approximately 0.8 knots. If observed, specific features of interest (fish, shellfish, mollusks, etc.) were noted and recorded. The camera recorded high definition 1080p. Video output is available as a component (Y/Pb/Pr), utilising standard connectors or HD-SDI on hybrid 75O coaxial or fibre optic connectors, a composite video output is also available. Samples were not audited but were cross examined by 2 scientists. This data has been reviewed against the DASSH Quality Assessment Criteria (http://doi.org/10.17031/64ccec5c7ba72) and been categorised as high quality. If any sensitive species or biotope records are present within this dataset, they will have been removed. If you wish to request access to sensitive species records, please contact the metadata contact. The UK Sensitive Species list has been agreed by UK statutory bodies and relevant experts. It can be viewed here https://docs.nbnatlas.org/sensitive-species-list/. Please note sensitive species lists can vary across the UK. |
