Metadata: 2014, Brown and May Marine, Zone 1 - Moray Firth, Fish and Shellfish Ecology Study
Abstract:
Brown and May have been commissioned by Moray Offshore Renewables Ltd. (MORL) to perform the baseline fish and shellfish ecology assessment of the modified Offshore Transmission Infrastructure (OfTI) located in the Moray Firth, Northern North Sea. This report summarises the ecology and distribution of fish and shellfish, including salmon and sea trout and an impact assessment evaluating the potential effects of the modified OfTI on fish and shellfish receptors during the construction, operation and decommissioning phases, taking account of guidance provided in the National Policy Statement (NPS) for Renewable Energy. This series includes the Technical Report, a chapter of the MORL OfTI Environmental Statement, associated figures in pdf and GIS datasets.

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Fish and shellfish ecological baseline has been undertaken using data sources listed in the ES chapter. These data sources are subject to certain sensitivities and limitations, which are described in more detail in the Technical Appendix 4.2 A Fish and Shellfish Technical Report. Potential impacts on fish and shellfish ecology (including Diadromous species) the following guidelines will be used to inform the assessment: Overarching NPS for Energy (EN-1) (Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) 2011a); and NPS for Renewable Energy Infrastructure (EN-3), July 2011. |
