Metadata: 2005, Titan, Walney and West of Duddon Sands, Baseline Benthic Survey
Abstract:
Titan Environmental Surveys Ltd. was commissioned by Scottish Power Generation Ltd. to conduct a combined baseline benthic survey for these two OWF projects (Walney and West Duddon). The Walney site is approximately 75km squared, which at the time of sampling had a proposed export cable route to Cleveleys, north of Blackpool. The West of Duddon Sands (WoDS) site is adjacent to, and immediately southeast, of the Walney site - with a proposed export cable route into Heysham. Survey operations were conducted in April/May 2005 and comprised of a programme of grab sampling and beam trawling to provide infaunal, epifaunal and associated sediment samples to characterise the benthos and sediment quality over the area of interest.

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Quality control procedures as described in the report were established for sample collection, processing and storage in order to minimise the risk of contamination of collected samples and to ensure the viability of the samples during storage and transportation to the various laboratories fo ranalysis. |
