Metadata: 2015, EGS, Blyth Demonstration Site, Annex I Site Survey
Abstract:
In June 2015, EDF Energy Renewables (EDF) contracted EGS International Ltd (EGSi), supported by Benthic Solutions Limited (BSL) to undertake a pre-construction geophysical, bathymetric and Annex I habitat survey within the Blyth Offshore Demonstrator Site. The objective of the benthic survey was to provide sufficient information to identify any features of conservation importance, such as Annex I habitats, that may have an impact on the installation and/or consenting process within the Array 2 area and Export Cable Route area. This series contains the Habitat Assessment Reports.

| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2015, EGS, Blyth Demonstration Site, Annex I Site Survey |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Annex I Site Survey |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 49d73566-c01f-45d1-ad8d-63830c44a679 |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | As the Array 2 and Export Cable Route surveys were part of one survey campaign, camera stations were initially numbered from 1 to 28 in the camera station rationale. During the survey, video-camera transects were carried out and completed for 20 camera stations within the Array 2 area. Cross transects were carried out on two of the camera stations therefore resulting in 22 video camera transects in total. Stations 6, 16, 19 and 21 were eventually removed from the field operations due to varying technical reasons. Camera station 27 was moved slightly from its original target location as it originally fell outside the survey area. Nine stations were identified for grab sampling (six primary and three secondary). Two failed attempts were recorded at Grab station 14 due to a failed trigger, however a successful sample was recovered on the third attempt. |
