Metadata: 2013, HR Wallingford, Dudgeon, Scour Development for WTG Foundations
Abstract:
Statoil and Statkraft acquired the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm project in October 2012 through the acquisition of all shares in Dudgeon Offshore Wind Ltd, a subsidary of the UK energy company Warwick Energy Ltd. Concept selection for the offshore foundations is planned later this year and as part of this concept selection process Dudgeon Offshore Wind Ltd need information about scour development for the alternative concepts. The study reported on here focused on identifying the scour potential for the different foundation concepts being evaluated for the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm project.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 19139 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2013, HR Wallingford, Dudgeon, Scour Development for WTG Foundations |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Scour Development for WTG Foundations |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 514aaea5-240d-49f3-be71-4da7d70c8366 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-312 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2013-12-19 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2013-12-19 |
| Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | 2 |
| Spatial resolution unit | This describes the unit of spatial resolution which for distance must be metres. | urn:ogc:def:uom:EPSG::9001 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | asNeeded |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | The scope of work, as specified by Dudgeon Offshore Wind Ltd, is as follows: -Provide a detailed description of how each of the design parameters listed below affects the occurrence of scour development for three different foundation concepts based on three different soil profiles. The scour determination shall include evaluation of: --the time scale for wave-induced scour; --the time scale for wind-induced scour; --the time scale for current-induced scour; and --the current speed required to induce scouring. -Quantify the amount of scour anticipated for the three different foundation concepts based on the three different soil profiles. Both the depth and the width of the scour hole shall be defined, in addition to the time scale for the induced scour. -Suggest a scour protection philosophy for each combination of foundation concept and soil profile where a scour depth greater than 0.5 m is anticipated. -For all combinations of foundation concepts and soil profiles where a scour depth greater than 0.5 m is anticipated, the Contractor shall estimate the required rock volumes, including rock grading, necessary to protect the foundation from scour development. |
