Metadata: 2012, ABPmer, Zone 9 Celtic Array, Irish Sea Zone Physical Processes Zonal Assessment: Stage 2
Abstract:
ABP Marine Environmental Research Ltd (ABPmer) was commissioned by Celtic Array to undertake a Zonal Appraisal of the physical processes of the Irish Sea Zone in order to identify and address the key issues and potential cumulative impact of the proposed development on the Irish Sea Zone Physical processes. This report is the Stage 2 zonal assessment of marine physical processes in the Round 3 Irish Sea Zone and it describes the hydrodynamic and sedimentary regime that operates in the Irish Sea Zone , this includes overview of adjacent coastlines and frontal systems that may be sensitive to changes in physical processes as a result of the proposed wind farm development within the zone. This study focused on providing a full zonal characterisation and physical process cumulative impact assessment Data used were derived from initial stage 1 assessment, data collated from different stages in the ZAP- Zonal Appraisal Planning process, Geophysical and Benthic data from previous MMT 2010 survey, Metocean surveys EMU 2010-2011 and Bird survey from Econ 2010 Associated report :R3-D-EN-133-0117-400004-001

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | This study is a full zonal characterisation which involved detailed mapping and characterisation of the physical process parameter, Risks and Issues, and identification the scope of the project’s Environmental Impact Assessments. It also looked into the physical process cumulative impact assessment by developing and appling a cumulative impact assessment tool, testing the interpretation of the zonal development envelope and identifying potential cumulative issues and risks. |
