Metadata: 2014, Marine Ecological Surveys Limited (MESL), Torr Head, Intertidal Characterisation Study
Abstract:
Marine Ecological Surveys Limited (MESL) has been contracted by Xodus Group Limited, on behalf of TVL, to undertake an intertidal survey in order to provide a characterisation of the potential cable route landfall sites associated with the development of the Torr Head Tidal Energy Array. This report presents the findings of the Phase I intertidal survey that was undertaken across three beaches in the vicinity of Torr Head. It is anticipated that the findings from this report are to be used to inform both the export cable options and the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the development.

| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2014, Marine Ecological Surveys Limited (MESL), Torr Head, Intertidal Characterisation Study |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Intertidal Characterisation Study |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 72389f88-43df-4992-8ccd-22301e80d47e |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | MESL undertook the Torr Head intertidal assessment in a single survey conducted between the 24th and 25th September 2014. The survey was undertaken on foot and access to the foreshore was ascertained via public rights of way or where consent had been gained from private landowners. The survey team comprised two experienced MESL staff. The methods and techniques used were in accordance with the guidance outlined in the CSM Guidance, Marine Monitoring Handbook (JNCC, 2001) and the CCW Handbook for Marine Intertidal Phase I Survey and Mapping (Wyn et al. 2006). |
