Abstract:
The report within this series contains the operation details and results of the Lynn and Inner Dowsing Windfarm Mono Pile Foundation Bathymetric Investigation carried out for MT Højgaard A/S. The fieldwork was undertaken betweenthe 8th and the 26th January 2007 by Fugro Survey Limited, using the M/V Genesis. The objective of the survey was to acquire, process and document high quality acoustic data, using a multibeam echosounder, to ascertain the bathymetry information about the mono pile locations. The survey work was performed for 30 mono pile locations on the Lynn Windfarm and 30 mono pile locations on the Inner Dowsing Windfarm. The survey vessel M/V Genesis was mobilised in Great Yarmouth with the necessary equipment and personnel to complete the project requirements and then operated out of Grimsby for the fieldwork. The purpose of the survey is to collect information on the bathymetry conditions around each of the proposed mono piles. The information to be collected will include tidal levels and water depths

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Multibeam echo sounder data was corrected for transducer depth, acoustic velocity through sea water, vessel heave, pitch and roll, and then positioned with reference to the transducers. All depths were then edited manually to remove any spurious values. Soundings were subsequently reduced to LAT. The MBE calibration was undertaken on the 10th and 12th of January. During the calibration on the 10th January the seabed was not considered suitable for determination of pitch correction. A different area was utilized to determine the pitch correction on the 12th January. The calibration report can be found in Appendix B2. |
