Metadata: 2014, Fugro EMU, Sheringham Shoal, Bathymetric Survey
Abstract:
Fugro EMU Limited (Fugro EMU) was commissioned by Scira Offshore Energy Limited to conduct a bathymetry survey of the Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm and export cables. The survey was required to fulfil Marine Management Organisation (MMO) requirements for post-construction monitoring. In order to meet these requirements, the scope of work required that Fugro EMU provide the following deliverables and reports: ? Accurate bathymetry coverage of the inter-array and export cables ? Reporting on any changes in conditions since the 2013 Marine Survey The survey was undertaken between 30th April and 4th May 2014 on board Fugro Seeker, all survey objectives and contractual requirements were achieved.

| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2014, Fugro EMU, Sheringham Shoal, Bathymetric Survey |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Bathymetric Survey |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 84151a00-543a-4f21-81c8-b03eebb07415 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-1977 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2014-04-30 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2014-05-04 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Patch test results, SVP data and all bathymetry offsets were applied during online acquisition. The validity of these values was verified by comparing overlapping data from adjacent lines. Thorough quality control (QC) of the survey data was conducted on board the Fugro Seeker. Following each data delivery to the Fugro EMU head office data was processed, and subjected to a final QC by a senior hydrographic processor. Corrected GNSS navigation data were applied in QINSy during processing and derived from a PPK solution as described in Section 3.1 (above). SVP and positioning errors were checked and corrected in QPS QINSy Processing Manager. Point cleaning was undertaken manually and using filters within IVS Fledermaus software. Final QC was conducted by reviewing standard deviation values for the final gridded surface prior to charting. All data were gridded at the required resolution and exported for plotting in ESRI ArcGIS software. Interpretation was carried out using a combination of IVS Fledermaus software (to view the sounding data point cloud) and ArcGIS (to digitise seabed features). For consistency, the same classifications were used in the MBES seabed characterisation as were used in the 2013 monitoring survey MBES characterisation. Fewer overall classifications were used in this survey than were used in the previous 2013 survey. This was because items like ropes, chains and fishing gear (included in the 2013 SSS interpretation) were unlikely to be visible in the MBES data, and no SSS data was acquired in 2014. |
