Metadata: 2011, GeoSea, Teesside Offshore Windfarm, Geotechnical Survey
Abstract:
Offshore ground investigations were carried out at Coatham Sands, Teesside to obtain geotechnical information for the proposed windfarm. Two reports are included here; the first by Soil Mechanics from June 2008 and the second by GeoSea during April 2011. These investigations comprised of sonic drilled or rotary drilled boreholes and in situ testing and laboratory testing. This metadata file has been created by The Crown Estate for the purpose of publishing the dataset onto the Marine Data Exchange.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 5101 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2011, GeoSea, Teesside Offshore Windfarm, Geotechnical Survey |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 98d934782f7a4936b0e32dc2d514134a |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | 009 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2008-07-26 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2011-05-13 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | unknown |

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | This series includes reports from two separate geotechnical surveys. During June 2008 Soil Mechanics (SM) were commissioned by SEtech (Geotechnical Engineers) Limited (SEtech), on behalf of EDF Energy Limited, to carry out an offshore ground investigation at Coatham Sands, Teesside. The scope of the investigation, which was specified by SEtech, comprised cable percussion and rotary drilled boreholes, in-situ testing and laboratory testing. The investigation was carried out in accordance with the contract specification and relevant standards (see References). The fieldwork was undertaken between 26 July and 24 October 2008. Mobilisation occurred on the 26 July 2008 with demobilisation on 8 November 2008. The second by GeoSea (GS) during April 2011 was commissioned by Teesside Offshore Windfarm Limited (TOWL), to carry out an offshore ground investigation at Coatham Sands, Teesside. The scope of the investigation, which was specified by (TOWL), comprised sonic drilled or rotary drilled boreholes and in situ testing. The investigation was carried out in accordance with the contract specification and relevant standards. The fieldwork was carried out between April 17th and May 13th 2011.
