| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2005, Seacore, Gwynt y Mor, Preliminary Geotechnical Site Investigation |
| Alternative title | The purpose of alternative title is to record any additional names by which the dataset may be known. | Preliminary Geotechnical Site Investigation |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | b6355009-4764-471f-ac88-ad54e7f9ddb8 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | TCE-592 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2005-03-18 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2005-03-26 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |
| Abstract | The abstract provides a clear and brief statement of the content of the resource. | Seacore were commissioned by npower renewables Ltd to undertake preliminary geotechnical site investigation work at the Gwynt y Môr offshore wind farm site. |
| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Copilot said: The fieldwork was performed 24 hours a day in two 12 hour shifts using the Seacore jack-up platform Excalibur. This platform has been specifically designed by Seacore to meet the requirements of site investigations and marine construction in nearshore and offshore environments. The platform consists of a 60m x 32m x 4.24m barge with 8 legs mounted through the hull. The legs are raised and lowered on jacking units comprising an upper and lower bearing. Each bearing clasps the surface of the legs using a pneumatic gripper system, and raise or lower the legs through the hull by extending or retracting the upper and lower bearings apart or together. Each leg is 50m long and the platform is capable of working at a maximum separation of 40m. For safety purposes two Offshore Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs) were permanently housed on board the vessel which could be rapidly deployed using a 5.0 tonne deck crane in the event of an emergency. A number of self-inflating life rafts were located around the vessel. The vessel is also equipped with a comprehensive suite of navigation and communications systems, including GMDSS, VHF, Inmarsat, and NAVTEX. Provide your feedback on BizChat |
