Abstract:
Bibby HydroMap Ltd. were commissioned by DONG Energy in May 2016 to undertake a UXO surve y for the Hornsea Project One (HOW01) pre-construction and UXO survey. The purpose of the survey is to provide information to mitigate the risk of unexploded ordnance (UXO) and information to optimise design and installation methods before construction. The areas to be surveyed are the export cable routes (EC), the inter-array cable routes (IAC), the interlink cable routes (ILC), wind turbine generator locations (WTG) and the offshore substation locations (OSS). Volume 1a details the operational parameters, locations, times, and techniques utilised during the survey on MV Bibby Athena. Volume 1b details the operational parameters, locations, times, and techniques utilised during the survey on MV Lia. Volume 2 is the. Processing Report which provides details on processing techniques undertaken as part of the contract and Volume 3 details the results of the UXO survey. Volume 4 is the benthic report issued by Benthic Solutions.

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | In addition to the online QC performed in line with Bibby HydroMap’s standards, a dedicated staff member performed offline data analysis. Data was thoroughly inspected in order to guarantee that the specific requirements of the job where fulfilled. The bathymetric dataset was analysed for coverage, hit counts and standard deviations in order to provide a detailed assessment of the data quality. Processed tracks for accurate side scan sonar target picking were also produced. Other aspects, such as heights levelling and track plots deliverables were analysed as guidance for the onshore processing phase. The side scan sonar imagery was inspected and a preliminary processing carried out. The acquired lines were plotted as a mosaic in order to assess the coverage specifications. Preliminary target picking and seabed features mapping were also produced. |
