Abstract:
The interim report in this series details the results of the first of two elasmobranch surveys to be undertaken in the area relevant to the Sheringham Shoal Offshore Wind Farm export cable. This survey was completed prior to the installation of the export cable, with the second survey to be undertaken within two months of the cable becoming operational. The survey methodology reflects the advice obtained during consultation with Cefas, Lowestoft.

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | On the 3rd August 2010 longlines baited with squid were deployed at ten stations along the export cable route. The longlines were left to soak for a duration of approximately three hours before being hauled and the catch recorded (refer to Section 3.5). Sampling operations were replicated on the 4th and 5th August 2010 for a total of three replicates at each station. It should be noted that two station replicates were omitted from the survey, L03A and L04C, due to the longlines being lost. It is possible that the longlines were accidently towed away by another vessel. |
