Metadata: 2011, DHI, Inner Sound, Coastal Processes Modelling
Abstract:
DHI has been commissioned by MeyGen to provide assistance in an Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) in the Inner Sound area, Pentland Firth, Scotland, United Kingdom. The purpose of the present EIA is to identify the potential impacts arising from the operation of two different arrays of tidal power generators in the Inner Sound area. The potential impacts in term of hydrodynamic, wave and morphological conditions have been studied through the use of numerical model developed by DHI. The present technical note presents the results of the performed tide, wave and morphological modelling as well as a description of the models including model setup and calibration. The hydrodynamic and wave modelling has been carried out simultaneously using DHI’s MIKE 21 coupled model. Using a coupled model allows simulating the mutual interaction between waves and currents, which is of interest in areas with both strong currents and waves.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 5577 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2011, DHI, Inner Sound, Coastal Processes Modelling |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | e618e9a2-d995-4640-b8c4-3142ec4e1d94 |
| Resource Identifier | This is the code assigned by the data owner. | SG5390 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2011-09-15 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2011-11-09 |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | notPlanned |
