Metadata: 2014-2015, RSK Environmental Ltd, Race Bank, Botanical Saltmarsh Survey
Abstract:
A baseline survey was carried out during the week of the 7th of July 2014 to provide data on the variation in the saltmarsh vegetation along the proposed cable route and to provide data against which to evaluate impacts from the various geophysical surveys (including borehole surveys) that are planned in July/ August 2014 in relation to the planned horizontal directional drilling. Three separate surveys were undertaken: (1) a rapid survey of the whole route, (2) a survey of vegetation along five transects perpendicular to the route; and (3) a survey of each of the three saltmarsh borehole locations. This baseline survey provides data on the composition and variation in the vegetation along the proposed route and at the proposed saltmarsh borehole locations. The survey also provided information on the location of saltmarsh creeks which is relevant to route selection.

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | Surveys were carried out on during the week of the 7th of July by RSK. The surveys were undertaken during a period of low tides and hot, dry weather. Three separate surveys were undertaken: (1) a rapid survey of the whole route, (2) a survey of vegetation along five transects perpendicular to the route; and (3) a survey of each of the three saltmarsh borehole locations. The locations of the survey route and quadrat positions are shown in Figure 1, document reference 855529. |
