Metadata: 2008-2010, Walney Offshore Wind Farm, Pre-construction Monitoring
Abstract:
Walney Offshore Windfarm (WOW) is located in the East Irish Sea and has been con-structed in two stages, Walney 1 and Walney 2. Export cable 1 runs into Morecambe Bay and connects to a transformer station at Heysham. Export cable 2 comes ashore at Cleveleys and connects to a transformer station at Hillhouse, Stanah. The construction of Walney Offshore Windfarms will commence in February 2010. Pre-construction surveys were conducted from 2008 and ongoing into 2010. The document within this series describes the environmental monitoring undertaken pre construction of Walney 1 and 2 and export cable routes 1 and 2. The environmental monitoring reported in this document should be seen as an ongoing process of monitoring pre-, during and post construction monitoring. Monitoring activities will be reported annually to the licensing authority, as described in the Marine Licence, for a period up to three years post-construction. The technical reports from the monitoring surveys are also provided within this series.

| Internal code | Internally assigned metadata identifier | 4504 |
| Title | The title is used to provide a brief and precise description of the dataset such as 'Date', 'Originating organisation/programme', 'Location' and 'Type of survey'. All acronyms and abbreviations should be reproduced in full. | 2008-2010, Walney Offshore Wind Farm, Pre-construction Monitoring |
| File Identifier | The File Identifier is a code, preferably a GUID, that is globally unique and remains with the same metadata record even if the record is edited or transferred between portals or tools. | 2deb5a7d-c966-4eea-8f24-02e347b071a5 |
| Resource type | The resource type will likely be a dataset but could also be a series (collection of datasets with a common specification) or a service. | series |
| Start date | This describes the date the resource starts. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2008 |
| End date | This describes the date the resource ends. This may only be the year if month and day are not known | 2010 |
| Spatial resolution | This describes the spatial resolution of the dataset or the spatial limitations of the service. | inapplicable |
| Frequency of updates | This describes the frequency with which the resource is modified or updated i.e. a monitoring programme that samples once per year has a frequency that is described as 'annually'. | unknown |
