Metadata: 2014, Anatec Limited, Torr Head Tidal Energy Array, Shipping and Navigation Studies
Abstract:
Anatec was commissioned by Tidal Ventures Limited (TVL), a joint venture between Bord Gáis Energy and OpenHydro Technology Limited, to perform a shipping and navigation assessment and a preliminary hazard analysis (PHA) of the proposed Torr Head Tidal Energy Array, off the North Antrim coast of Northern Ireland at Torr Head. As part of the Navigational Risk Assessments (NRA) of the proposed Fair Head Tidal Energy Project and the Torr Head Tidal Energy Project, 28 days of shipping data surrounding the Agreement for Lease (AfL) areas for both projects has been gathered. The data was collected over 2 x 14 day periods to give account to seasonal and tidal variations. This series contains reports for the Summer and Winter 2014 traffic surveys as well as the Navigational Risk Assessment (NRA) and Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) Technical Reports.

| Lineage | Lineage includes the background information, history of the sources of data, data quality statements and methods. | The radar and AIS were set up at co-ordinates 55o 11.88’ North, 06o 04.99’ West (World Geodetic System 1984 (WGS84)).
